TRiaDS

(Translational Research  in  a Dental Setting)

TRiaDS (Translation Research in a Dental Setting) is a multidisciplinary research group that has been formed to develop a programme of knowledge transfer research embedded within the SDCEP guidance development process; it has public, academic, political and professional members.

As a research partnership it aims to develop and assess the implementation of strategies to improve knowledge transfer into dental practice and offers the potential to create a research laboratory for the provision of evidence-based information to policy makers on how best to translate service and educational initiatives into practice.

The TRiaDS programme will consider the multiple levels at which healthcare is delivered and their interplay, the impact of context, the development of a theory-based understanding of the behavioural determinants of change and of the evaluation of change, as well as methodological issues associated with knowledge transfer research.
